Teeth advice please
My Toby - 1yr old Tonk - has got really bad breath, I have had a look in his mouth and his teeth are quite dirty and his gum lines are a bit red.
I am going to phone the vet on Monday and see about getting him in to have them cleaned but I don't like the idea of him having an anaesthetic if it is not 100% necessary.
Is there any other way I could try to clean them for him or any product I can use to help him keep them cleaner.
I thought that the dry biscuits were supposed to help them and stop their teeth from getting too gunked up. I have tried him on raw food to see if he would use the bones to clean his teeth but he wont even look at it.
If a dental clean is the only option what sort of cost am I looking at - it doesn't matter 'cos I would pay anything to keep him healthy but I just wanted a rough idea. He is insured but I don't think they cover dental issues - I will have to check on that.
Thanks guys xxx
