Re: cat collars
all of my cats have worn collars, pretty sure my sis's cats wore them too, none of them have ever managed to garrot themselves with them, our house, neighbour is surrounded by bushes, trees and other assorted foliage. sis's lived out in the sticks so many many things to be caught on, no problems at all.
we did use quick release ones for a while but they tend to come off when they have a good old scratch so we use normal fastners now. Our cat flap works by a magnet on their collars so they couldn't get in if they didn't have them on. did have a normal cat flap for a while but as there are loads of cats in our area and 2 had already been in our house while we were out, we changed to the magnet one (chip one is faar to expensive).
they also both have a wee address barrell on them. we keep meaning to get them chipped but never really get round to it. also most of the neighbours know our miscreant cats on sight.
