edited to add: Besides I signed contracts on top of all this swearing I would never get them de-clawed when I adopted Sunday. If I was stupid enough to then get them de-clawed and somehow the shelters found out the adoption might be invalid. I wouldn't risk that.
You really are to be commended, you're obviously the very best kind of cat owner. They asked you to sign that contract at the shelter for a reason, would your BF prefer they confiscated your cats??? Which, if you were to go ahead and declaw in spite of the contract, they would have every legal right to do! (Not suggesting you would do it, just illustrating the point).

If he's trying to muscle/bully you over your pets, maybe it's worth asking yourself if this might be the thin end of the wedge. Who knows what the next thing he might demand might be?
