I think if you are working it is unfair to get a kitten they could get into allsorts of trouble and no one will be there to rescue them. Plus if a friend/nieghber/family member are going to pop in. How long do you think they would do that they have a life too. Going in a few times a day for the next year or so they will have thier own comitments. I'm a strong believer that if you do not have the time to commit to a pet then dont have one. If you want a pet that does not take much looking after then get a hamster they will be awake and lively just about when you get in from work or a parakeet you can teach them to talk. One of my rescue cats came from a couples flat who relised they did not have the time to give him the attention he needed and there was 2 of them he was 13 weeks old at the time. He is now 6 1/2 months old and very happy because he gets all the attention he wants and not sat in a flat alone all day. Please think long and hard wether a kitten is the right pet for you. The last thing you want i'm sure is to find you can't be there for him and he is another unwanted cat looking for a new home. Most of my 7 cats were unwanted after a short time of being with thier previous owners. Sorry for the long post just airing my views. If you do decide a cat is the right pet for you then good luck and best wishes.
