Re: RAW Diet

The Prize Choice range is quite commercialised. I can tell you having, spoken to the company that all their "mince" range may well contain poultry as well as what ever is on the packet, so if you think you are buying just rabbit, you are probably not!! Also don't forget bones that your dog can actually eat, as these minces won't contain enough bone.

Some people I know use the following companies for their dog meat: Durham Animal Feeds :: DAF Petfood - Welcome or Landywood Pet Foods : Home. I don't use either as my butcher gets most of the stuff I ask for, or I buy at the supermarket.

BTW, did you know that the economy mince in supermarkets contains bone, so that is ideal for a raw fed dog... Along with the chicken wings, legs ect... My GSD loves the turkey legs!

There is another good book on the market. It is called The Dog's Dinner and is written by Ann Ridyard, she is a German Shepherd breeder (Krisannrio) and she weans all her pups on a raw diet. If you google for her website I think you can buy the book there, or email Ann

And get ready to fend off those people who tell you that feeding your dog raw meat and especially chicken or lamb bones is going to kill them!!
