I was aware that they do hibernate but i was more worried that it wasnt big enough to go down. I was always told from a lady who owns 6 tortoise she waited till they were a certain weight before trying hibernation. So they could cope with going without food and not coming out of hibernation to early. Tortoise arent my subject thats why i thought it good to say read up on it first.Glad you are able to help as its not a pet ive kept my self. Although i do like them i wouldnt own one as i would worry about getting this bit right. Thanks
