What did you do about the other cat? Could it have been they were both pets and the other one was out looking for it?

One of ours escaped in the garden once and we couldn't find her anywhere....our neuter male sat in the same spot for ages until we worked out that's where our missing kitty was...in our old air raid shelter!!! Reminded me a bit of lassie!
