Hi CS, i also agree with the KK and A,it's not nice at all but as your vet will have explained it can be lived with as long as your on the ball with your cat(which you are),i'm sure Hugo will bounce back soon
It seems likely he'd have got it from where he was bred,if your certain he's had no other outings
