You have to be careful about going solely raw. Cats need (just like us) certain minerals and vitamens to stay healthy. So unless you really, really do your research and are prepared to make sure that your cats get the right proportions it might be better to be pragmatic.
What I mean is a combo of very high quality commercial food as well as getting them used to eating raw as part of their diet.
