Re: Preparing for a neuter....
With mine, if one has to be starved for an op, then they ALL have to suffer It is a worry though because as mine are used to grazing, they do not realise thats their last meal for a while, and I want the one who is having the op to eat properly. I always make sure that tea is a firm favourite treat that everyone enjoys and wolfs down. Then the rest get their breakie when the one going for an op is safely in their basket.
I wouldn't do that with Barney though, he needs regular meals to help build him up. Is there nothing special they all love, chicken, beef, fish ? Something you know that Baxter will clear his plate. Then maybe have him in your bedroom and leave the other two with food all night, take that and their water up when you let Baxter out in the morning. Then put the water and their breakie down when you have poor Baxter secured.
I hate leaving them for an op, but I am sure he will be fine, we suffer more with the waiting. The boys I've had done recently don't seem to notice. They are more interested in making up for the lost meals for the day
