I hope I don't get shot down for this

I don't believe in breeding just for the sake of it and don't agree with people letting their bitch have a litter so the kids can experience it, the bitch can experience motherhood etc etc.
HOWEVER, I have the most gorgeous little jack russell x chihuahua who is an absolute delight. I have been thinking about a litter from her for years now, but as she is now 6 years old I am running out of time. Is 6 too old for a first (and only) litter? She is only 8 inches high, in perfect health and with a temperament to die for. I have a friend with a tiny chihuahua male who is happy for him to be a daddy. We will keep a puppy and the owner of the male will have one, then we have at least 3 other people who would want a baby (all exceptionally good homes) so I know the babies would all have secure futures. I imagine she would only have 2 or 3 anyway as she's so tiny.
I am not doing this for the money, as none of the puppies will be sold, rather adopted with an agreement that if for whatever reason they could not keep them they would come back to me. As she is due to come into season in the next few weeks I have to make a decision now. What do you guys think?
Any suggestions or advice would be welcome.
