you don't and really shouldn't bathe the eye in anything other than boiled PLAIN water not salted. cats don't have salty tears like we do. salt is good to dry an eye out if it's weeping to clean the outer area but not to flush the eye. just boiled cooled water on its own should suffice and if it doesn't clear up in a day give the vets a ring.
