I had the same thing going on with jumping and turning ur back on them and it didnt help us and especially i was in agony from the scratching on the back with the claws. I could only handle it for so long and then it was simply too painfull.
I decided to grab them on their collar and pull them down from me, say no, make them sit. Also did this when they were jumping at visitors.
This worked for me and cobi doesnt jump at all anymore, not even at visitors

Maya sometimes does it but in the middle of a jump she seems to realise she is doing wrong, as she makes a quick turn in the air lol
but i think every dog is different and will react different.
