Meg rarely walks on concrete. We live right opposite a huge field, the only thing in between is a gravel road, which is used by the row of houses we live on, 9 all together.
So she comes out of the house, waits at the bottom of the path until I say it's OK, then darts off onto the field - waiting for me to throw a tennis ball.
Concrete really does keep them down - but she is so energetic, that a lead walk just wouldn't do. And having the field right outside our house, we just take her there.
I think a few lead walks might be in order though, maybe after her stint with the tennis ball.
Poor girl, can't go through with loosing another claw.
