KitCats is on a distinguished road
Re: Starting breeding

I am new to breeding and at present have 1 queen and 1 stud, plus am looking for another queen. I will say that without my mentor and friends who are breeders (Many of 20+ years) I would not have had a clue. Cat shows and showing your chosen breed are definately a good place to start, not only will you learn about breed standards etc but you will also make some valuble friendships which will aid you in your dreams
We did all start somewhere and even though I am a year in now and have spent I wouldn't like to say how much, it has definately been a worth while journey and I am very excited about what next year will be bringing when I start showing my boy and girl.
A good book I have enjoyed reading which a breeder friend recomended to me was the Complete Book of Cat Breeding by Damien Rice. I also own about 7 books on Persians (My chosen breed as I am totally inlove with them and also have 2 pet neutured girls) which although there is alot of advice that is repeated there is also alot of tit bits that I wouldn't know or have thought of. Cat clubs are also a great source of information and best of all forums!!! Forums are great as there are always people who can help you and answer your questions
Sorry i've gone on, I wish you all the luck in the world, Mel xx
