Re: My Mother is allergic, recommendations welcome please!

My husband takes citirizine [zirtek] which he has found to be the best, but if she gets breathless, she needs to discuss that with her Dr as it might be allergy aggravated asthma. My husband has an inhaler and if he has been lazy and not washed his hands after playing with the cats he often has to have a puff on that.

It is usually the proteins in the saliva that causes irritation for allergic people, it dries and flakes, and irritates. I would be very wary of over bathing your cats but I'm sure I did read somewhere about some wipes you could use to just gently wipe the surface of their coats?

I'm not sure if it was these or something similar, and I'm afraid I haven't tried them myself so can't personally vouch for them.

You can also buy allergy nasal sprays that can be helpful too.
