I agree with the posters who advocate licensed events only and no over the counter sales to the general public. I would also like to see some sort of restriction on who can be given a licence and when they are allowed to set off fireworks. All the pubs near us have some sort of rota system - so for a fortnight around bonfire night there is a firework display at one particular pub each night. I think firework night should be on November 5th and then that's it. Similarly, New years Eve firework celebrations should be January 31st only, and not three or for days either side - and the same for Diwali and the Chinese New Year.
