Does your cat go out. Sounds like he has been in a fight or sustained an injury from something. Pus means it's infected. You should get him to your vets for a check, as most likey he will need some anti biotics. You could try bathing it with some boiled, let to cool til warm salty water and cotton wool, for tonight
