Re: a question for peeps with indoor cats..

I intend for mine to be indoor cats and so far they haven't gone out on their own.

Having said that Sooty escape twice yesterday and almost a third time. Fortunately he only went into the side and back garden.

My exterior doors are usually locked, no windows are open except the kitchen window which leads to their outdoor pen. I have to have a good idea where they are at any one given time in case someone calls.

I prefer to use the front exterior door for visitor because I can close the doors leading to the kitchen and lounge.

Hands up it is a nightmare when someone calls at the side door, two hands three pets, never much good at maths but 2 into 3 definitely doesn't go.

The play pen is a god send, if the kittens are in their pen I can easily close the window to keep them secure while I open the side door.

I have a routine when someone calls, "just a minute, (meaning several), Duke bed. Sooty Sweep shut behind a door or window." Absolutely knackered by the time I answer the door - with a smile "sorry about that." before telling them to shove off in a nice way because they are selling something. D
