Re: Starting to get really nervous
Well Gypsy has been fine today, temperature is back up to 37.5 and she seems to be eating as normal. Seemed a little bit sicky but nothing major. But we have had a bit of a scare tonight. I took her outside for a wee and she started to sort of chomp her lips, she walked a couple of steps and then collapsed on the floor. I panicked, shouting to my son that she was having a fit and told him to rush and phone the vet and by the time my son had ran back in the house, Gypsy had come round and was standing up. My god, they don't half know how to scare the hell out of you. She walked back into the house and I phoned a local vet straight away(my vets are a 35 min drive away and so i thought the local vets would be a better idea). They seem to put it down to something Boxer dogs do and seems to be quite common where it happens due to low blood pressure(she has been heart tested clear). They said to keep an eye on her and phone them if it happened again. I have to say that I was'nt too convinced they really knew what it was so I also phoned my own vets. They seem to think that it could be down to reflux. Gypsy has been a little sicky and drooling a little today as though she has a touch of indegestion. They too said to keep an eye on her and to ring them back in an hour or so to let them know how she is and then to take her in tomorrow morning for a check up. Has anybody else ever come across this kind of thing before? It's so scarey I just wish everything was over with now but I know things will happen in their own time.
