Re: Urgent Advice Required

Hello and welcome.

I don't know anything about the breed. Is it possible to spend a bit of time with the dogs to see if your allergy is triggered.

I am fairly sure there are antihistamines available - check with your pharmacy. Occasionally allergies can be overcome naturally by constant contact but it's not a guarantee.

I can't give an honest answer as to whether male or females produce different amounts of dander but I would have thought it would be the same. I would think the size of the dog would make a difference not gender. Having said that males tend to be a little bigger, but Bichon Frize are small dogs.

I have only owned male dogs as a child my parent had a female. I don't think there is a difference some say female dogs are more loyal and affectionate, males can be more headstrong. I haven't found a difference.

If I'm honest I choose males because there is no problems as they mature with seasons, and for me there would be a need to have a female spayed to avoid unwanted litters.
