if possible get a puppy who has been brought up in the home. my border collie came from a farm and was reared in a barn so wasnt socialised. she was a very nervous puppy and it has taken a lot of training to get her to accept strangers.
have you had a border collie before? they are very highly strung and take a lot of training. they are lovely pets if probably trained.
