excellent response and i would have to agree.
when you say mess do you mean poo or wee or both? she may just be marking because she's got the kittens(nesting and marking territory) and has too much access to all of the house too soon. keeping her in the same room with the kittens and a litter box might help this instead of giving her free roam. you will need to get rid of the markings as well with cleaning if you have a search round the site you will find some excellent recommendations (vodka, simple solution, nature's miracle etc..) just stay away from ammonias.
also is she eating and drinking ok? does she seem stressed?
