Also just because there's only been one official complaints doesn't necessarily mean there weren't others who were unhappy but chose not to or didn't bother to lodge it formally . It's simply not definitive measure one way or another. Not everyone takes things to this stage!

It reminds me of adverse reactions to drugs - the ability of the Veterinary Medicines Directorate (VMD) to monitor and in some cases discontinue certain drugs relies very heavily on the data they receive from both the vets and the clients. I've no doubt that quite a few cases go unreported for different reasons.

It's one reason I always notify them if I've experienced a problem with any medication my cats have had! And you only need to have a suspicion of an adverse reaction in order to report it!
