A ragdoll sounds a great idea. There's one snag. Sorry to throw in a negative vibe, but, how bad is your Mum's arthritis?
In 4 years time, could she lift the adult cat, without pain? Does your Mum live alone? If not, then her arthritis shouldn't
be too much of a problem, especially if you live nearby.

Why not go for a mix - shorthairXragdoll or MC? The shelters may have the very type you both decide on
