Hi Everyone,
Thanks for all your kind msgs, they have made me feel a little more positive. I have now been to the vets to visit Minky and although I cried alot (again!) it was so lovely to see him. He is well in himself, eating loads, using his litter tray and purring everytime he sees someone! The nurses said they love him and he is a real time waster! Apparently they even have a list of names that want to adopt him if I chose not to have him home (fat chance, I said!). So it's nice to know he is being well cared for. However he is still really weak. Although he can now stand up, his back legs are not strong and he keeps standing on his bent back paw on his front. They have said that it is possible it will get better, and there's no way they would amputate. I have to ring tomorrow to see if he has to stay in over the weekend. So good news in a way, but the prospect of caring for him when he returns home is quite daunting. He is such a little star though, and my kids adore him, I'm sure we'll all try to make him happy.
As for the dog, I am talking to the ex about it tonight. I will never trust it again, and although she has been the best dog with my kids ( i have had her from 2yrs until 10yrs and my kids are 7 and 5), it does make you wonder whether as she gets older there may be things that will make her snap - will it be my children next?
Anyway, as I said thanks to everyone fro replying, it's good to know that people care!
