Hi Ladywiccana!
I feed my Harley a raw diet, which has drastically cut my visits to the vet, his teeth and coat are great, he poops less, his stools are firm, he is able to express his glands, and he doesn't smell doggy, all a major plus I'd say.
Basically I feed:
Raw meaty bones; chicken, lamb, turkey - 70%
Raw pulped veggies - 20%
Raw pulped fruit - 10%
I also add raw eggs including the shell a couple times a week, and powdered herbs and Salmon oil, which I get from here
I have also read that feeding raw lessens the likelihood of bloat in deep chested dogs.
