I had a few Dysons, none of which lasted longer than a year, then my hubby decided to buy a Vax pet hoover, and that has lasted about two years now so far. It does need emptying pretty often if they are shedding a lot, otherwise it can lose some suction, but other than that I find it brilliant. The suction is so hard the hoover is quite hard to push until you get used to it!

It is way cheaper than a Dyson as well.
