Thank you for your advice. When I got Ziggy at easter I had taken her to the vet because of her continual sickness. It proved an expensive visit - which you kind of expect. she gave me scientific food for sensitive tummies and a lot of antibiotics. But as it turned out she was still sick with the sensitive food. I no longer give her biscuit food as a friend told me that her vet said they can crystalise in their stomachs and are too strong for some cats. That seemed to work....for a while. After posting my message on pet forums i found on the internet that house cats preen themselves much more than outdoor cats and as such are much more susceptible to fur balls & was told that GoKat make a food specifically for house cats to which helps break down fur balls. Managed to find house cat food made by purina - which were biscuits & also found hairball paste to help her pass the hair naturally. Unfortunately was still sick. Took her to another vet for a 2nd opinion who was very thorough & thinks she may be older than I was told - maybe 9 or 10 & has taken blood to see if its a thyroid problem. Started mincing her food as i noticed she doesnt seem to chew it. So far this has worked - so here's hoping a solution is in sight! Am so looking forward to being able to relax & enjoy my very first cat! Thanks again for your replies.
