Re: Your Idea Of A Good Breeder
Right I only have experience of one breeder and it was brilliant unfortunatly she no longer breeds but never mind.
When my partner told me we could get a NI pup I found a bitch (Shila) I was interested in, I rang debbie for a chat and she told me all the bad points of the breed and then told me to think on it for a week and let her know if i still wanted Shila, I discussed at great length all the bad points with kev and we decided to go for her. I spoke to debbie twice a week and I had everything explained to me about the breed ( i already knew enough as I had done 3 years research on NI's)she was also extremley nosey and wanted to no my daily routine so she could make sure i was suitable for a NI. We decided to do the 700 mile round trip to see Shila and meet debbie and her partner while we were there I looked round her entire house, her kennel block, garden and met all her dogs, I was shown all the paperwork including pedigree's for all her dogs and all the vets bills etc.
We decided to take Shila home with us and I was told if i couldn't cope Debbie would come and pick her up but we wouldn't be aloud another pup from her. I am now really good friends with debbie and she has always put her dogs first even when her daughter got married she nearly missed it due to not finding someone suitable to look after the dogs for a few hours.
She is honest and reliable and has always put her dogs health and happiness first, that is what i want from a breeder xx
