Re: Rehoming cats
Saynamore you have explained it better than anyone from the breeders POV and I think I get it, BUT I suppose I still cannot see past hobby vs cats... I cannot see how anyone would choose to part with a cat that is a member of the family and who is loved, in the quest for bettering that breed.
Now if as breeders, people said that they do not get emotionally attached and that it is not like me and my cats, I could understand that. The hobby comes first before the cats, so of course some have to move to make room for new, it is just sucjh a cold calculating idea.
Rescue people who fosterer in their own homes take in a cat, they love it and look after it but let it go because ultimately that is best for the cat, whereas when a breeder lets a cat go it is in the breeders best interests. If they loved that cat more than anything they would not be able to part with it, and would give the hobby up.
And no, I would never become that crazy cat person because I wouldn't keep getting cats-because it wouldn't be fair on the ones i have-they come first.
I suppose i should not compare how I love my pets to how a breeder does things.
