Hi, we are going to be getting a puppy in the fall, and are trying to decide between a Samoyed and a Golden Retriever. The dog will be a family dog, with us having two kids (ages 9 and 6), and two cats. The Golden Retriever is so popular and a great family dog, but the Samoyed is not mentioned much and is rumored to be as good as a Golden in terms of personality, behavior, etc. I would love any advice on any differences (besides shedding!!) between the two that we should further consider...
