Usually, a kitten should be litter trained by the breeder and if the kitten were a little older, she
would be litter trained. As your little girl is only 8 weeks, it is entirely possible that her litter training may be incomplete. Having said this, though, most kittens know how to use the litter tray by 8 weeks. It could just be that she is settling into your home.
Lots of praise when she does the right thing and keep popping her onto the litter tray if you see her squatting in readiness for a wee.
