Re: How much chocolate is dangerouos - useful information
My Mums flat coat pigged out on various chocolate the other day, by rights the amount she ate means she should be dead. The reason she got it was because mum is moving and had packed some food in a box and had left the box out. The dog has a brilliant nose, it was buried under other stuff. she's the only dog I know that will rip open a sainsbury's bag just to make sure there is no food in it. She won't do it to any other bag.
My Mum shoveled salt down her neck and also gave her mashed potato (guaranteed to throw up on that usually) it didn't work. She spent the next 2 days bouncing around like she had had too much caffeine.
She is 13 years old and usually a bit doddery so watching her running and bouncing like a puppy was a bit weird. She ended up walking on lead.
She is now back to her usual self with no ill effects that we can see.
I would still never give my dog anything other than a small amount, mainly, now, because he's wired enough without the extra theobromine in his system.
