Just a idea but why dont u use cold tea to clean his eyes with? I have 2 kittens here with scabby eyes and i've been doing it since thursday 3 times a day and they have lovely clear eyes now.
I know this wont clear up anything serious but it might help a bit it also clears up conjuctivitous saves a trip to the vets x
