Advice Needed about a kitten

Hi all,

I really could do with some advice, I am british living in Portugal, here they have a lot of stray cats, where I work we have a stray cat who has had kittens, where they were hiding was in the middle of a buliding site a few people rescued some of the kittens and the mother then disapeared on Thursday so i have taken one of the kittens too. I took the kitten yesterday!! straight to a vet where i live who has started the worming treatment and we are back in a month to start injections so to me the kitten is around 4 or 5 weeks old. She is really healthy and eating solid mushy food. We took her home yesterday after buying everything possible, food, cosy bed, toys, litter tray etc etc. I am just really really really worried as both myself and partner work full time. We had her sleep with us last night and she did cry most of the night which I was expecting, but she is exploring our apartment and eating well, I just need to help her to do poo poo as the vet advised.

Today I have kept her in the kitched for like 5 minutes on its own on and off to try to get it used to being on its own, but it crys and crys as misses her mummy so much, and i am going to put her bed in the kitchen tonight with all her food etc, and I am expecting her to cry all night, but I cant have her in the bed and get used to this habit. My partner will be off work on Monday but by Tuesday we will both be out of the house for 8 9 hurs a day. As she is so young and been taken away from her mummy a lot sooner than she should I am so worried If we are the right people to look after her. I have safe proofed my kitchen and really want to keep her but I dont want to make her unhappy, can anyone offer any advise

Thank you
