Re: damaged dewclaw

I've got an 8 month old German Shepherd who caught his dewclaw jumping in the boot of the car when going for a walk. Didn't hear a yelp or anything but when we went to open the boot there was rather a lot of blood.

Stopped the bleeding, rushed to the local Tesco (was in the middle of nowhere and 20miles from home!), got it cleaned up, bandaged and got back home. Spoke to the vet and was told if the bleeding wasn't severe and he wasn't in any obvious pain then keep it clean apply fresh bandages each day.

Now 4 days afterwards and although it stings if he catches it on something he leaves it be.
