Have you ever cared for a diabetic cat Fewiil?? Well I have and it really is not the most difficult thing to do.
Cats respond VERY well to proper regulation of their blood sugars and it does not take a rocket scientist to do this properly at home with very little need for expensive vet visits.
For anybody who is interested in more up to date and accurate information regarding Feline Diabetes please go to Diabetic Cat Care and read the Protocol designed by a leading vet expert Elizabeth Hodgkins.
!00% agree with this.I had a cat who was dignosed with diabetes mellitus at approx 12 years old and lived for 7years with only one hypoglycemic episode which needed veterinary intervention. You learn very quickly what to look out for and as long as you have a bottle of hypo-stop or at a push sugar and water to hand, there is usually no need for panic. If I had been given the kind of information you have just written I would have been very wary of starting the process which I admit was restricting but was so worth the effort.
