Yes it's certainly better to be safe than sorry

If you are going to carry her about you may as well walk her about as, contrary to popular belief, many diseases are actually airborn . We didn't take our pups out until after they had their second vaccinations but it is believed that pups are covered against diseases from immunity passed through the mothers milk. Not a risk I wanted to take though.
You can get very good quality crates for really good prices on eBay, I've just got my two some and they are far better than the one I got for Milo from PAH which cost a fortune. If it is too big to begin with you can buy dividers and adjust accordingly as the pup grows.
If you aren't sure about worming pop her up to the vets and get her done, you'll want to get a full health check done once you've got her home anyway.

Thank you for the advice... you can never have enough!
Well I was just worried because I thought that if my aunties dog had access to parks and other strange dogs... that they could "carry" it and when my puppy goes near them it could catch it? sorry, I really should read up on how these diseases are transmitted!
But if it will be ok, then of course I'll start her outdoor training asap.
I'm going to start ringing round my local vets over the next few days to enquire about vaccination prices and to make an appointment.
I have seen some pretty good deals with crates on ebay... but maybe I should have bid earlier as I will probably need this crate by monday! (that is if the breeder has received the KC cert and pedigree by then... or I may have to wait longer).
