Taking Medication
Hi
I just wondered if anyone could offer any assistance.
I have a 20 month old Corgi/Terrier Cross (Benny)
He had been poorly since midday on Monday. Diarrhoea and then from about 6pm vomiting. On Tuesday morning he seemed fine and did eat and managed to keep food down. However, he still had diarrhoea. On Wednesday morning we visited the Vet. Benny was given an examination. He had a painful stomach and a temp of 39. He was given 2 injections. I was given antibiotics and Antepsin liquid. I was advised to crumble the tablet in his food and the liquid is also to be put on his food. I was advised that his medication was to start on Thursday morning.
It was suggested that Benny might have eaten something he shouldn't have during a walk.
Benny was a lot better on Wednesday after visiting the vet and ate Chicken and Rice.
However, I have been trying to get him to eat since 8am this morning so that he can take his medication but he is just not interested in food at all. Even his favourite things.
Benny is a "faddy" eater at the best of times but I did not know whether to ring the Vet or wait for a few more hours and see if he is hungry a little later.
I was concerned if he is feeling sickly he is not going to want to eat anything anyway.
Any suggestions/advice much appreciated.
