When I introduced my BSH to my tortie (who is known to dislike other cats) there was alot of spitting, growling and aggression but within a few weeks they have settled down and my tortie just ignores his attempts to play and if he gets to close she just growls and runs away.

It is perfectly normal unless one of them is getting seriously hurt but that doesnt sound like its happening.
