Problems With Male Staffie and New Kittens
Any advice would be appreciated.
Duke as taken too well to the kittens, I hadn't really noticed other than he is really good with them. great! well not really.
Duke will not leave their side, I noticed he was thickening around his abdomen a bit too quick for it to be weight gain. You guessed it he won't leave the kittens not even to relieve himself.
I didn't realise until there was a puddle on the floor. This has happened twice now, and he has pood once. He's being going out and coming straight back in without relieiving himself. I don't punish him, but I am forcing him outside to toilet and I am preventing from coming in until he does something, then loads of praise.
He has been refusing our daily walks, again I thought it was the rain but we have walked for miles in the rain. He will start to pull back as soon as we get to the side gate and does a complete U-turn at the front gate pulling me straight back home.
He just either lays by the crate or oversees them when they are playing in the room.
I want to avoid him becoming possessive. He isn't at the moment he is happy for us all to be around them and lets us handle them, I also stroke Duke at the same time and I encourge hubby to always include Duke, which he does.
