Question dry food allergy

Hi there. I breed Bengal cats. One of our kittens went to a new home in February of this year at 13 weeks of age, and around a month after being rehomed, she began to show signs of tummy problems in the form of diarrhea. The new owners had kept her on the science plan dry and wet kitten food that she had grown up on. She had all the relevant tests carried out by the vet, and all came back negative for all. She was then tested for food allergies which showed a borderline allergy to chicken, although this is not likely as she has eaten fresh chicken and royal canin sensitive stomach wet food chicken and rice variety without problems. Apparently each time the owners give her dry food, she experiences diarrhea. They have been too nervous to try anything other than sensitive tummy foods in case the balance gets upset again. What I don't understand is why, if she were allergic to the dry food, did she not show this during the first 4 months of her life? Is it that allergies take a while to develop and can emerge at any stage? None of my other litters or kittens have experienced problems such as this. Has anyone else experienced a similar situation and has any advice?
