i think as with most dogs he will get used to it eventualy

i can remeber my first pup didn like the lead much ether and would
go nuts if you went near him with it lol

we eventualy use it as part of play then gradualy got him used to it
we would put it on the floor and wiggle it like a snake and put a toy on the end of it

he would chase it and then shortly after it he didnt mind it as he thought it was a toy lol

but it worked a treat

but loads of good suggestions above
just try difrent things till you get a good response
you just need to make the lead look not so scary to him
and when you get a positive reaction use that as your tool to train him into wearing it

plenty treats and praise are always needed also
