All my cats have jumped on the table/work tops. What I do is say a very firm 'No....(name of cat) ' and pick them up and put them on the floor.

But I know from experience that once they 'learn' to 'obey' in fact, they will be very, very sneaky in doing exactly what they want, and extremely guilty at being caught

Best to clear worktops of food as soon as done and wipe down frequently. Stack in the dishwasher or do the washing up as soon as the meal is finished
