I paid £5.88 at the chemist for the Fucidyl (which would have been £25 from the vets!).

I then had to go back a week later, which cost me another £45 plus £5.88.

£100 for an eye infection, for which the human drugs would have cost a little over £10 (I have since found out that Piriton is an allergy tablet available over the counter for £2).

I wish I could find a vets that would either charge for the consult but offer to write prescriptions, or scrap the consult and charge only for the medication. But that would be in a dreamland! LOL
Our vet in Cyprus is very good (been to 6 until we found him) and very reasonably priced.
Consult=FREE
Consult with vaccination and worming = 25 euro
Consult with nail clipping, anal gland emptying = 10 euro
Full blood work with hormones etc = 70 euro
Just a blood count = 40 euro
X-rays and ultrasounds are 30 euro each
And most conditions that need an injection, or drugs to take home = 25 euro
Neutering male dogs = 100 euro
Neuetering bitches = 140 euro.

SOunds RIDICULOUSLY expensive what you paid for Paddy's eye. But glad he is ok now.
