I would just add to the part about allergies - having done a lot of research on skin allergies in particular, and through speaking to vets and dermatologists, I have been advised that a dog with allergies should stick to Omega 3 for supplementation and avoid any specific supplementation of Omega 6/9, as this in itself can cause inflammation...it is ok for them to ingest small amounts through normal diet, but should not, for instance, be given any in the form of a fish oil/capsule with higher quantities.
