by the way, I am compelled to add this. I know metacam is approved for use in cats in Europe, and many do, but it is known to cause acute kidney failure in cats, and I would not recommend using it, except in a "nothing to lose" situation and certainly not for a senior cat.

Metacam should never be dispensed without blood work being done first to check the kidney function of the cat, and frequent blood work thereafter, while the cat is on the metacam.
