Agree with all the posts above, a deposit if you say you want one then yes... But a deposit before you have even seen them is just plain weird, what if you dont like any of the pups in that particular litter, Did they say the deposit was returnable if that was the case? I would steer clear of them and tell them that no money will cross hands as you do not know what your putting a deposit down on. Im sure you wouldnt put a deposit on a house you hadnt even been to so its obsurd that they are asking this

Time wasters is a possibility of the cause as someone said before but still...... They may put a deposit down, view pups and not like any of them and ask for deposit back, Id say thats more time consuming than just a viewing with no sale.
