Well, I think any vet should be professional enough to understand that someone who cares as much about their pets as you do might want a second opinion.
After all humans do it all the time, in fact many insurance companies (in the USA at least) require a second opinion before a major surgical procedure.
I don't hesitate to question my vet, and if she thinks someone else might have another approach she is more than happy for me to check it out.
But I won't nag about it anymore.
